JACK & JILL BACHATA SENSUAL COMPETITION
Welcome to our Jack & Jill Bachata Sensual Competition in Tisno!
Let us walk you through the essentials for this year’s thrilling event.
EVENT FORMAT
This competition will follow a modified Jack & Jill format, where dancers are randomly paired.
The entire competition takes place in one day and may include:
– Preliminaries (only if needed – based on number of participants)
– Semi-Finals
– Finals
ATTENTION
Organizers reserve the right to adjust the number of participants advancing to each round based on event logistics
COMPETITION DIVISIONS
Amateur Division
Open to dancers who:
– Have been dancing bachata socially for less than 2 years
– Have never taught bachata, even unofficially
– Do not earn income from performing, teaching or showcasing bachata
Professional Division
Designed for dancers who:
– Teach bachata at festivals, schools or workshops
– Perform paid shows or demonstrations
– In any way generate income from bachata dancing
If in doubt, competitors may be asked for clarification before acceptance into a division.
COMPETITION STRUCTURE
Preliminary Round (based on number of participants)
1. Competitors dance with multiple randomly assigned partners.
2. Dancers are grouped (e.g., 8 leaders & 8 followers per heat).
3. Each dancer rotates partners after a song (approx. 1 min/song).
4. Judged individually. Judges mark YES or NO for progression.
Semi-Finals
1. Same structure as preliminaries.
2. A limited number of dancers from each role progress to the finals.
Judging based on:
Technique
Leading/ Following skills
Musicality
Styling
Finals
1. Finalists are randomly paired and judged as a couple.
2. Each couple dances to 3 songs.
3. Judges rank couples using relative placement (e.g., 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).
4. No scores – only final placements are recorded.
5. Approx. 5 couples in the final (subject to change).

REGISTRATIONS & FEES
All competitors must register exclusively through Danceplace.
Entry fee: 10 EUR + 0,62 EUR operational fee.
All competitors must have a valid festival pass (Full Pass, Party Pass or Competition Only Pass) to participate.
Note: Competition entry fees are non-refundable.
